Amity Allies is a non-partisan group of parents and caregivers from the Amity district (Bethany, Orange, and Woodbridge) working to keep our schools strong, safe, and welcoming for all families in our community. Our primary means to achieve this is voter awareness.

We’re here because of the Amity budget referendums in 2022. It didn’t make sense to us that a multi-million dollar budget for a school system that serves thousands of families could be decided by such a small percentage of the public. We were troubled that the initial referendum turnout that year was less than the Amity student population itself, and that we ourselves knew little about the budget or the referendum process itself.

As we started to educate ourselves, we committed ourselves to share what we learned. This was the beginning of Amity Allies.

We believe strongly that public education is what makes our country great, and is a foundational pillar of our community. Our responsibility, as a community, is to stand by our schools and educators so they may serve generations to come.
